Disneyland Paris - Lukey Travel
An Introduction to Disneyland Paris
I've created a short video on my YouTube channel that shows some of my favourite moments from my trips to Disneyland Paris in 2022, 2023 and 2024...
As I hope this video demonstrates to you, Disneyland Paris is a place filled with fun for all the family, top-tier entertainment, and of course a whole load of magic!
How to get to Disneyland Paris from the UK
Fly
Without fail, every time I have been to Disneyland Paris, I have flown from one of the 15 airports that you fly to Paris from in the UK. To help you know which airports these are, I've created a map that shows all the airports in the UK and Paris, as well as the routes to and from each airport. You can click on an airport to see the airlines that fly to/from it.
Train
When it comes to taking the train, there are two options...
Eurostar
The Eurostar is what most people think of when getting the train to the continent. It's as simple as catching the Eurostar from London St Pancras International station (1h22m), changing at Lille-Europe station and then catching another train (1h11m) to Marne-la-Vallée station. This station is directly outside Disneyland Paris, and even offers a service to take your luggage to any on-site hotel for you, so you can head straight into the parks. You can book Eurostar tickets either direct with Eurostar or via Trainline.
Unfortunately, there is no longer a direct Eurostar service to MLV station.
LeShuttle
LeShuttle is the option you'll want to consider if you want to take your vehicle over to the continent. This involves driving to the Folkstone terminal, driving your vehicle onto the train, travelling for 35min on the train to Calais before a 3.5hr drive to Disneyland Paris.
You can purchase tickets for LeShuttle directly on their website.
Where to stay at Disneyland Paris
Another one of the decisions you'll have to make when heading to Disneyland Paris is where you will stay. As with any Disney park, there are heaps of different options, but there are two main categories you'll have to choose from...
On Property
Disneyland Paris has a choice of 7 'on-property' accommodation options. These options are all located on Disney property (hence the name!) and come with some pretty nice perks! Before we get to the perks, let's take a look at the options and their prices, from cheapest to most expensive.
- Disney Davy Crockett Ranch (cheapest) - stay in your own cabin in the middle of the woods. Not within walking distance of the parks! There is also no shuttle service to the parks, meaning you will have to drive to/from the parks every day!
- Disney Hotel Santa Fe - themed around 'Cars', two-star hotel. Free shuttle service to the parks or a 20min walk.
- Disney Hotel Cheyenne - settle in the wild west with some of the Toy Story characters; three-star hotel. Free shuttle service to the parks or a 20min walk.
- Disney Sequoia Lodge - enjoy a cosy retreat in Bambi-themed rooms; three-star hotel. Free shuttle service to the parks or a 10-15min walk.
- Disney Newport Bay Club - set sail on a nautical adventure alongside Mickey and Minnie in this four-star hotel. Free shuttle service to the parks or a 15min walk.
- Disney Hotel New York - The Art of Marvel - head to the big apple along with some of your favourite superhero friends in this lavish four-star hotel. Free shuttle service to the parks or a 10min walk.
- Disneyland Hotel (most expensive) - stay in luxury right on the entrance to Disneyland Park in this five-star hotel. You won't be needing a shuttle bus, and it'll hardly be a minute's walk!
Here's a map showing where all of these hotels are located...
Now, the main perk you get by staying in a Disney hotel is 'Extra Magic Time'. This allows guests staying in the hotels an additional hour of park time in the morning, before the park opens to everyone else! (IMPORTANT NOTE: not all attractions are open during this time!). My advice would be to make the most of this time, especially during peak seasons (Summer, school holidays, French national holidays, etc.).
If you want any more advice on where you want to stay, please do get in touch from the 'Contact' page in the menu bar!
Off Property
There is also loads of other accommodation you can stay at in the vicinity of the parks; some even have a free shuttle bus! I've attached (yet another) map showing some examples...
There are so many off-site options, so do some research into some that will suit you the best! Struggling to find something? Don't hesitate to get in touch and I'll see if I can give you a hand!
